Our Visit to the Te Anau Vintage Museum

On Thursday we walked to the Vintage Museum to look at all the old machines.

Gabrielle thinks this stuff looks like old junk!

But Ryan thinks these old tractors look extremely cool.

This grader used to fix our roads.

What part of the tractor is this?

There are lots and lots of old tractors here.  Could we have one please?

Brmmm! Brmmm! Imagine if we all hopped on one of these and roared off  down the road!

This was a farm bike that was around when Mrs Fuller was young.  She had a bike just like this!

We are going so fast in the go-cart we are a blurr!

Casey would love one of these...

and Riley and Morgan want to invent a time machine so they can go back and get one of these!

Look at the motor!

Nina thinks it's awfully high up here!

Casey is trying to start up the engine.

Will and Sam want to drive this tractor back to school.

Gabrielle is trying to drive this tractor away.  But good luck finding the key!

Amber looks like she's relaxing after a hard day at the wheel.

Lulu thinks this is a cool old-fashioned tractor.

Bye! Bye! Sam's pushing everything out of the way!

Mason wants to drive away and never come back. Ha! Ha!

Elan would like Nina to shift her hand so they can get going.

Move out of the way, Georgia's coming through,
and there's nothing you can do!

Clunky! Clunky! This won't get down the road in a hurry.

Someone should really clean this out.  Anybody volunteering?

Don't get in this thing, it's got no floor!

Good luck harvesting oats with this!

This tractor is too old to be driven, it needs a big rest.

This used to be a baler. It's hard to believe it ever worked.

This old hut needs renovating.  How about a tv?

This is a grindstone and it still works really well.

I wonder if this cash machine will pay out and make us rich.

Does this old sewing machine still work!

The old schoolhouse has so much cool stuff, we would like to be able to use some of it still.

This is the old Te Anau School.  I bet they had fun here getting the strap.

Everyone is having a great time seeing how the windmill works.

Wow!  This water is pumped from the windmill.

We still had lots of questions about what we saw.

Back home again!  One of those old machines would be really useful about now...

Young Innovators-Making Newspaper Bridges

We have been very busy making and improving newspaper bridges.  Our bridges had to be able to hold our sellotape dispenser.
We practised rolling paper...

And we practised some more..

then we started to build our bridges.

We are ready for the test.

A bit more work needed here!

So did we.
